How to reattach the top counterweight in an LG washer that keeps coming loose and making a rumbling noise

Posted by Samurai Appliance Repair Man, in Washing Machine Repair 16 March 2012 · 481 views

LG Washer Counterweight Rumbling

A rare occurrence.

Wrap electrical tape around each mounting bolt---5 times---at the end of the thread near the bolt head (not near the bolt tip).

Re-install the bolts with---either a powerful drill or socket set (10mm)

The electrical tape should help expand the TUB WEIGHT studs---slightly---for better retention.
