spilling my steaming entrails onto your floor."

I have a refrigerator question I offer for your acceptance.. Is it true that some refrigerators are designed with drain trays that are difficult if not impossible to remove? My Frigidaire is vintage 2005. Recent power outage here (5 days), the addition of several bags of ice, food draining caused massive flux to the tray and a bad smell emanated.
My Frig's drip tray is bolted to the body/roof. Even if I did get it loose, it's way too big to remove using the available openings. I have sopped it up with towels. What a mess. Could I have tipped the fridge over instead? Is such tipping wise? Would have spilled all the muck anyway, I guess. Oh well, they sure don't make them like they used to.
