Build on your knowledge of basic electricity and take your troubleshooting skills to the next level with the Advanced Schematic Analysis and Troubleshooting (ASAT) course at the Samurai Tech Academy.
This course delves deeply into sophisticated and esoteric appliance circuit troubleshooting techniques. You'll learn how to use timing charts together with the schematic to troubleshoot problems; how to use Ohm's Law as a powerful troubleshooting tool to give you a clear understanding of how a circuit works; how to troubleshoot deceptive and tricky open neutral problems; and how to troubleshoot appliances with control boards, including multiple control boards and microprocessor boards.
You are expected to already have a solid background in basic electricity, circuits, and troubleshooting such as you would get in the Fundamentals of Appliance Repair course or the Basic Electricity Boot Camp (BEBC). If not, then you should enroll in either the Fundamentals course or the BEBC/ASAT bundle.
The BEBC is a breakout of the Basic Electricity and Troubleshooting material from the Fundamentals of Appliance Repair course.
This course is designed for the experienced appliance technician who want to take the ASAT course, needs the pre-requisite thorough basic training in electricity, circuits, and schematics, but already has knowledge of tools, parts, basic gas, electronics, and electric motors. (Those additional topics are taught in Fundamentals.)
We recommend that most techs take the Fundamentals course. We have many veteran techs who have appreciated the depth and breadth of the instruction given there. However, we want to offer some flexibility for those who want a more narrow focus.
