  6. I read through every dryer forum before I posted this, I promise. I am replacing the drum belt on my Asko T721 dryer. I got the new belt, got the machine apart, but I don't understand how to install the belt onto the motor spindle and pulley wheel mechanism. There's no tension. It should be pretty tight, right? The length of the belt is correct. I compared it to the broken one. I'm missing something about the actual installation onto the pulley. I am looking at the illustration of how it is supposed to be positioned, and it says just around the motor spindle then up around the pulley, but nothing holds it on the pulley. It's not going to rotate the drum. When I've watched other videos it looks like people adjust the spring. Other times people double the belt up so it's completely around the spindle and then up around the pulley wheel, but the Asko illustration does not show that. I'm sorry if I'm not explaining well. Any guess as to what I am doing wrong? I did all this work and I'm so proud of myself that I hate the idea of calling a technician at this point. Thank you very much for your time.

  15. Hi all, just week I've had two occurrences where the pan of my trusty D1706 Asko dishwasher has been full (and overflowed). After drying it all out and looking for leaks during all cycles and drains I am stumped. Attached to the inside top edge of the steel access panel there's a line of spongy foam padding (looks like carpet pad) which was saturated. There's also a plastic "drip sheild" (part #8058486) that I presume is to catch drips from above. I don't think the door was open or full of water any more than normal use, but this wet foam is my only clue. Does this point to any solution for any of you veteran Samurai? Thanks, Steve

  20. Hey guys... My Asko W6221 Washer wibr start. I got them with a new apartment, and had them moved downstairs by some ruff guys who bumped the machines down the steps step by step (until told them to be more careful) I have the dryer working again... but the washer is proving to be more difficult. Ive taken at apart and cleaned the inside totally. The power is 249v 2hots and a ground. The Power light does "NOT come on ( but i checked there IS power at the switch on the in and out sides) but the door latch DOES work, There is power to all the switches and to the electronic control board (I checked with my multimeter) I also took the motor out to check the brushes they seem fine in that theres about 7/8" or more of the carbon brush left. I replaced the motor and brushes. But when I close the door and select a program, and an option or two (or none0 and push START BUTTON.... NOTHING HAPPENS What do i do please I desperately need get this washing machine working as soon as i can... Thanks
  21. Hi, I have an Asko T700 Dryer that is a 2002 model. I have personally replaced drum rollers, belts, motor brushes. Rerouted vent hose to be a straight shot out of the house 2 feet long. The dryer dryed clothes much faster after the shorter vent install but...... I noticed the dryer had moved forward and become dislodged from the vent pipe. I pushed the dryer forward while grasping the dryer from the top right and felt an electrical shock in my hand. No breaker was tripped but the dryer will do nothing as well as my Asko 620 washer is dead No lights, no hum, no nothing but I do have 2 legs of 120 volts measured off the dryer pigtail at connection box I need some help please..........Thanks for listening. Rick
  22. My 13-year old Asko dishwasher (D1776) is giving me the "F1" code, which means trouble heating. It's otherwise in great shape, so I thought I might grab a replacement heating element (part #8057077) as the easiest part to replace, but I have looked all over the internet and the only one I can find is used, in terrible shape, overpriced, and in Australia (I'm in the US). Is this something dishwasher manufacturers do - not produce enough replacement parts so that when parts break you have to buy a new appliance? Thanks, Chris

    Asko Dishwasher - Heating Fault

My several-years-old Asko D1776 dishwasher is flashing an "F1" error which appears to be a "water heating fault", which might be the heating element, might be the thermostat, and might be the control board. Is there a way to determine where the problem is, and then order the correct part, or should I just start ordering parts willy-nilly and replacing them until it gets better? Thanks! Chris
  24. Wondering if anyone has successfully bypassed the detergent drawer in this washing machine? Am I crazy to consider such a thing? BACKGROUND: I am replacing the inlet valve today and had an idea to hack the system and bypass the detergent drawer by connecting hoses from the inlet valve directly to the hose that fills the washer tub. There are two reasons that let me to consider this: (1) The drawer has been stuck and unable to be opened for at least 6 months so I have not been using it. I simply add the detergent directly to the tub before loading laundry. (2) The drawer "leaks". I put leaks in quotation marks because I don't really think it is leaking, but that a very small amount of water splashes out as it fills. I can see quite a bit of rust and corrosion from years of this leaking which is probably what caused it to finally stick closed in the first place. My idea to bypass the drawer would be to connect the three hoses to some kind of fixture which would then connect directly to the hose that fills the tub. Bad idea? TIA, Dave
