  1. First time post! I've got a Kenmore Electric Range #790.92109010; I'm guessing around 8 years old. I just noticed a rather high pitched soft noise during preheat (400*), and once it reached the desired temp, the oven kept on clicking on and off (much more than normal...every 5-10 seconds). I noticed that the oven power light kept on clicking on and off as well.  The stovetop seems to do something similar; working fine if it is turned on high, but quickly cutting on and off (faster than usual) during heating (medium low heat).  The clock and other functions seem to work fine. I took the back off to check for any loose wiring to power cord or operating board; all looks in good condition. The only thing I have done to it recently is reattach the display when it broke off. Thoughts? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
  2. hello, i have a americana electric range with mechanical thermostat and display board when thermostat is set above 300 F the board starts blinking bake element comes on if I go up or back down display is fine any suggestions would be greatly  appreciated
  3. While using only the oven, probe prompt started flashing and beeping.  Problem is that I wasn't using the probe.   Shortly thereafter the oven died but the burners, now in use, remained functional.  I reset the breaker and the same results ensued.  A little later,  everything died.  Killed the breaker and 23 hours later, no codes, oven dead, but the burners worked for a little while and then died.  Killed breaker again and 22 hours later, oven dead, the burners worked and after about 45 minutes the beep and the F0 code appears and the burners still work.  Is this the timer issue and what is the proper length of time for breaker/unit reset?  Anything else, as a similar event occurred 8+1/2 years prior, (I checked out unit and replaced the timer module) but those archives are no longer available.  Well, at least I can't find them.  Same stove, same house, same repair guy (me) and I think same problem.  Any thoughts brethren inebriated ones (how can "one" be plural?)?   Domo arigato Mr. Roboto,   Mr. Lee Fix

  16. The title pretty much says it all.  If left to its own devices, the dryer will go all night.  The clothes are properly dry after about an hour, vent is clear, dryer feels hot.  The problem persists if I switch to a timed dry; the knob does not advance at all.  I've replaced the heating element in the past, but it does seem strange that the timed dry won't work.  Thanks so much in advance!
  17. Not even 5 months ago, I had this same issue:   http://appliantology.org/topic/46599-the-old-runs-but-doesnt-heat-ler3624eq0/?hl=ler3624eq0   My Thermal Cutout has fritzed again!  Any thoughts about some other underlying problem?  Any thoughts about parts quality?   Thanks!
  18. The original owner of this 6 year old Kenmore 500 series electric dryer reports that the dryer abruptly stopped "turning on". No warning. Out of the blue. They report that the light comes on inside of the dryer when they open the door so are assuming that the appliance is getting power. When asked, they report that they have never had the vent cleaned.  Options? Thanks, John

  23. I unplugged the unit to let it defrost. After a day I plugged it back in and it seemed to be working. However, after a couple of days the problem was back, the freezer side is cold while the fridge side is not.
  24. Hi there!  Can someone please help!  I have an ancient (1987) Caloric electric range, model ERR-389.  It is a combination "ME" range that microwaves and cooks in the same oven cavity.  Very space age and rare and I want to keep it working if possible....    Anyway, the oven seems to be off by about 20-30 degrees lower than what it's set at.  It seems more accurate at higher temps, but at lower temps it's really off in its calibration.   The problem is that the digital low temp oven sensor 'thermocouple probe' (Part 0064074 or Y0064074) is NLA from everyone I have checked with, and I have no clue whether it is possible to manually adjust the calibration on this thing.  (The oven also has a separate, high-limit, bulb-type thermostat that somehow separately controls the self-clean cycle).  The range has a digital glass touch control panel that controls the oven and also the electric burners.  It does not seem to have any built in diagnostics, however (it doesnt show error codes, etc., like new digital ranges do).   Is there some way to re-adjust the range temperature?  The owner's manual says nothing about re-calibrating the temp.  Is there a screw somewhere to turn or is there something like a jumper pin on one or more of the control boards behind the control panel, or down on one of the other relay/CPU boards located below the oven? (There are about three or four separate relay boards in this this thing).  Or possibly a special combination of key presses?   Or is the only way to fix this to get a new sensor?  And how can I do so if it's NLA....   Finally, is the sensor even truly broken or is this temperature inaccuracy actually considered 'normal'.   THANKS!!!!!!!!
