  1. My 13-year old Asko dishwasher (D1776) is giving me the "F1" code, which means trouble heating.  It's otherwise in great shape, so I thought I might grab a replacement heating element (part #8057077) as the easiest part to replace, but I have looked all over the internet and the only one I can find is used, in terrible shape, overpriced, and in Australia (I'm in the US). Is this something dishwasher manufacturers do - not produce enough replacement parts so that when parts break you have to buy a new appliance? Thanks, Chris
  2. Asko Dishwasher - Heating Fault

My several-years-old Asko D1776 dishwasher is flashing an "F1" error which appears to be a "water heating fault", which might be the heating element, might be the thermostat, and might be the control board. Is there a way to determine where the problem is, and then order the correct part, or should I just start ordering parts willy-nilly and replacing them until it gets better? Thanks! Chris
  3. Wondering if anyone has successfully bypassed the detergent drawer in this washing machine? Am I crazy to consider such a thing?   BACKGROUND: I am replacing the inlet valve today and had an idea to hack the system and bypass the detergent drawer by connecting hoses from the inlet valve directly to the hose that fills the washer tub. There are two reasons that let me to consider this: (1) The drawer has been stuck and unable to be opened for at least 6 months so I have not been using it. I simply add the detergent directly to the tub before loading laundry. (2) The drawer "leaks". I put leaks in quotation marks because I don't really think it is leaking, but that a very small amount of water splashes out as it fills. I can see quite a bit of rust and corrosion from years of this leaking which is probably what caused it to finally stick closed in the first place.   My idea to bypass the drawer would be to connect the three hoses to some kind of fixture which would then connect directly to the hose that fills the tub. Bad idea?   TIA, Dave

  6. Does anyone have a technician's guide to the ASKO W600 washer? The latch on the door finally broke and I just received a new door (ordered the sensor too... just in case). Now I just want to collect a manual in case I need to take the sucker apart. The manual that came with the machine is not technical. Thanks all.
  7. I have a stackable Asko washer/dryer. Had it for 21/2 years. Beginning of this March, water started gathering in the area of the removable compressor. Compressor is removed and cleaned each month. I've had two different repairmen, trained by Asko look at it. Neither one seems to be able to find the problem .hope someone out there has an idea. Thanks.
  8. We have an ASKO D1760 dishwasher that came with our house.  The latch sensor seems to be flaking out, because when I opened the dishwasher after I started it, it did not stop (spray arm was spraying!).  The next day it seems OK, but now it's doing it every time.  In a possibly unrelated even, the heated dry was turned on, and the cycle got stuck overnight on the heated dry.....luckily very little damage was done.  That's the only time it's ever gotten "stuck".  I've turned that off and am only running it when I'm paying attention.....because I'm guessing a professional needs to look at that.   However, in the meantime, any tips on the door latch?   We've used this site many, many times in the distant past, including ordering parts for our washing machine and dryer.  Awesome.   --Robin
  9. Asko dryer smells like burning. Discovered heat is always powered and heating as long as the unit is on (on/off master power button/switch). Some sites say there is a short in the heater assembly and may need that new part. BUT there should not be full power sent to the heater assembly when not running a cycle right? Anyone seen this issue before?
  10. All,   Asko W620 washer.   Won't spin or agitate.  Carbon brushes are short (1 @3/4", 1 @ 1/2")  BUT... when I put a continuity tester on them they register continuity through commutator.   example - probe to left brush lead - left brush to commutator to right brush - right brush lead to probe   I'm guessing it's the brushes but how do I test the programmer?  My machine is 14 years old but the motor is only 4 years old.   Also - does anyone have the wiring diagram for this machine?  I have the manual (thanks internet!).   Kindest Regards,   Neil
  11. I have an ASKO Washer that powers off mid-cycle. I'm able to pull well, one of the two fuses out. The other seems to be melted in place. After doing some online research, I (safely) pulled the top off the washer and looked at the nasty fuse holders, one was kind of melty.   I ordered the replacement fuse holders from Repair Clinic. Everything seemed to be going swimmingly until I compared the diameters of the new and old fuse holders. The old fuse holders,(8801354) threaded with a plastic nut are a smaller diameter than the new fuse holders (8065573) which use some plastic tabs to hold in place. I could easily drill out the old hole and use the new fuse holders but my spidey sense always urges caution when parts aren't a direct fit.   Could there possibly be something completely different about the new fuse holders that would be functionally different from the old?   The new fuse holders are 15amp, 230v rated, just like the old. The connectors fit the tabs....what could go wrong?   Anyone else try this?   Also, the fuses themselves are slow blow and gray in color. The new fuse holders came with white fuses. Should I assume these are also slow blow or is there some fuse color coding I should be aware of....thanks for any feedback!!
  12. Got a new replacement motor for ASKO 10505 and after installation, am seeing some blue "sparks' during operation (at the brushes).  Also emitting a light burning smell after running a while.  Before I removed the old motor, I marked the location of the bolts and reinstalled new motor to match markings (less minor variation).  Also installed new belt.   When I installed motor, I switched the main plug in connector from one side of the new motor to the other so I wouldn't have to deal w/ changing the existing wire configuration.     Questions:   Wondering if changing the plug connector changed rotation of motor (and hence the brushes are facing the wrong direction & creating sparking). Any other possible reasons for sparking or smell?   Thanks for the help as the family will soon be emitting their own smell from lack of laundry facilities!

  15. I have the following ASKO dryer which is making a rumbling noise while drying clothes.  When I turn the drum by hand, I can feel a thump every 6 to 8 inches of drum rotation. The make, model and type of the dryer is  Make:  Asko  Model: T701  Type:  TD11 I think it may be the support rollers that need replacing. Do you concur?         Should any other parts be serviced at this time? The T700 series dryer service manual states that to change the support roller: . The front frame must be removed.   . This requires to remove the motor.     . This requires to remove the drum.       . This requires to remove the top cover and rear panel.         . This requires a special tool to hold the drum.   Is all this required and what level of difficulty is it to complete these tasks?
  16. Hello:   Above model of dishwasher:   I am working on 2 of these dishwashers.   I put the first one into test for fault codes. LED L1 lights up. Complaint no heating, long cycle, bad cleaning. I will be checking the thermistor for resistance and the heating element. I understand that there is a thermal fuse on the heating element that my be bad. Also, if there is a thermistor problem, the heating cycle is cut out/passed over completely. Also there is no water going up to the upper spray arm. That spray arm has sat in the same position through 2 cycles     I put the second one into test mode for fault codes. The LED L1 and LED L6 light up. Same complaints as above. Looks like the same senario as above. Except, the LED 6 lighting up. According to the service manual this is a rinse aid area issue, but it references that is for the dw20.5 only, not these dw20.3 models. Also, the same upper spray arm has the same issues as the first machine.   Any thoughts gents?   Respect and thanks,   Mike
