  8. Greetings, My sister has a relatively new (18 months old) GE Gas Range (Model# PCGS930SEL2SS) and back in October it started exhibiting this issue where the oven would come on, up to temp and then would shutdown / not stay on and keep the oven at temp. Because the oven was past the 1 year warranty, she ended up dealing with a local appliance repair company and 3 visits later, and more than $800 out of her own pocket things are no further ahead. Reaching out to both the company she purchased from, and to GE have so far, not resulted in any action. Searching both this forum and via google search have led to a possible lead on this issue... the bulletin referenced below seems like it is similar to what she is seeing, but I do not have access to the full details of this bulletin to further investigate. https://appliantology.org/topic/69585-new-appliance-service-manual-added-ge-cgs986-pgs930-gas-range-training-bulletin-shutting-down-at-250f/ Oct 9, 2018 — GE CGS986 PGS930 Gas Range Training Bulletin - Shutting down at 250F View File PUB TB16-18 Submitter Samurai Appliance Repair Man ... Additionally, I can say that the 3 service calls thus far have resulted in replacement of the components listed below, all which have not helped WS01L16300 - glass & touch board WS01F08639 - machine board WS01F07435 - brake HSI WS01F09B94 - blower WS01F06621 - board sensing Thanks in advance for any input on this!

  11. I have a Kenmore 790.71513400 gas range that the oven will not light. When this started I assumed it was the igniter again, I had replaced it approximately three years ago. You could hear the relay snap after setting the oven temperature on the panel, but the igniter would not glow. I replaced the igniter, but it still does not glow/light. Again, you hear the relay snap, but that is it. I took apart the igniter wiring to check for bad connections or corrosion, and the smaller spade terminal on the gas safety valve didn't look too good. All of that is cleaned up now. I have not checked for voltage, would that be my net step?

  13. So... I've been a member for probably fifteen years, but haven't been online recently, now I find there are posts I posted that I can't access anymore! I guess tempus fugits. I have an ancient Wolf Challenger KCHSSR "snorkler" range that is a family heirloom... it's the only thing my son wants when I go to the great appliance repair shop in the clouds. I bypassed the flame switch years ago (gasps of horror!) but the solenoid finally bit the big one. And OEM parts for the beast are INSANELY expensive (especially for a stove we got for free). I'd like to retrofit with a safer (?) igniter/safety valve system. But it looks like most of the safety valves on amazon are for 3 volt systems. Can anyone recommend a good 110 volt safety valve that would be suitable for the retrofit? Has anyone done such a retrofit? Any reason why I shouldn't do it?

    Whirlpool 27" GAS DRYER WGD95HEXW0 (White) WGD95HEXR0 (Red) WGD95HEXL0 (Silver) Repair Part List - W10341812 Tech Sheet - W10306459
  15. Dear Forum I've been at this for days trying to rule every other component out to make certain I order the right part to fix my Samsung DV350AGP/XAA Gas Dryer. The cycle runs, motor spins, controls and display respond normally. There is no heat. The igniter does not glow. There is no AC voltage on the igniter line when the dryer is spinning. I have first isolated and then conducted resistance tests on all the sensors as follows: Igniter resistance is 119Ω Thermostat located near the blower is 0Ω Hi-Limit Thermostat located on gas chamber reads 0Ω Radiant (flame) sensor reads 0Ω Thermistor reads 12Ω @ 67°F on the sensor and up at the motherboard as well. Tested the gas valves as well and all are according to manufacture spec at 1.39Ω / 1.28Ω / 0.57Ω Tested my belt cut-off switch, door switch and even the lamp are all right on spec. So now my attention is turned to the motherboard, there is little information out there on how to test the motherboard but I've tried to test the heater relay switch RY6, it does not change in resistance at any time during a drying cycle or when the dryer is powered off. Is this normal? when my meter is at VAC, i do pickup the following on the Heater Relay Switch: 0.092AC Voltage when dryer powered ON but not in a cycle 0.192AC Voltage when dryer is in a cycle (spinning) 0.187AC Voltage when dryer is powered OFF its so minor i fail to see its significance though unless the heat relay is using this small amount of voltage to trigger another relay somewhere else I have yet to find. Should the heater relay close circuit when the dryer is running and its failure to do so means the on board relay is bad? Have i tested it properly? i just pulled the RY6 header off and Ohms tested pin 1 to pin 2 and go nothing, started the dryer and still got nothing. Can anyone take a stab at helping me determine if my motherboard is bad or if its a bad wiring issue or did I overlook a sensor or relay test? MUCH APPRECIATED! My neighbors are getting tired of drying our laundry for us. Thanks!

  18. Hi Everyone, I recently purchased a Kenmore Gas Range Model Hi Everyone, I recently purchased a Kenmore Gas Range Model 91136769 https://usermanual.wiki/Kenmore/91136665790.978328865/view The broiler igniter will not glow. I am trying to determine if it is the igniter or the electronic control board. I think I know how to test the igniter, and I can get to some of the wiring under the stove. I am trying to avoid pulling the stove out, because it is heavy. Also, I have it way up on the adjustable feet and don't want to risk bending them. I see wiring coming into a junction box and leaving the box underneath the oven (I've attached pics). I'm trying to figure out where to test either the igniter or the board, to see which may be at fault. Hoping someone might offer some guidance. Thanks! Not sure exactly which model, because the label is damaged, but this is the manual https://usermanual.wiki/Kenmore/91136665790.978328865/view The broiler igniter will not glow.
