  1. On my old whirlpool diect drive coupler washer, I have a problem I can't figure out. After the pause from agitating and it starts to drain, it immediately starts spinning while draining. If I hold the tub at the start, it drains normally but when i let it go, it starts spinning. If i hold the tub more than 2 minutes or so, I think I smell a burning odor. I've swapped out the complete transmission and the timer with known good ones from my other machine and the same thing happens. The only thing left that I can think of is the brake but I'm not sure how that is supposed to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. My 2.5 year old GE washer won't fill the tub. It runs for a second several times, like it always has, but then instead of filling the tub with water, it goes straight into the wash mode. It might put a little water in there, but not enough to cover the clothes. Both hot and cold valves are turned on. It doesn't matter which laundry size I select and hitting the "Deep Fill" button does nothing, except turn the light on. I'm thinking water level sensor. What kind of fix is that? Thanks!

    MAYTAG ATLANTIS MAV6257AWW

Hi. I'm trying to replace the seal and bearing kit on my Maytag Atlantis MAV6257AWW washer. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the tub nut off to do the repair. Tried soaking it with WD40 overnight, but no luck, the transmission moves when I try to get the nut off. Any way to stop the transmission from turning while I am trying to remove the tub nut? Any other ideas on how to remove the old tub nut? Please advise. Thanks.
