We have an 8 yr. old GE Profile wash machine and here recently on the spin cycle it seems to be spinning twice the speed in normally does. I know something is definitely wrong with it somewhere. It sounds like it's going to take off! Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks...

No increase in speed, just lots more noise from a shot bearing. Time to decide between a new transmission or a new washer.
