Kenmore Diswasher with metallic smell

I have a new Kenmore Quiet Guard 2 Dishwasher that gives off a metalic burning smell when used. (like car brakes when the pads are shot) The Model number is 665. 743420 The ser number is FR 4802353. Any thoughts greatly appreciated

See if there is something resting on the heating element in the bottom of the tub. If that is ok, perhaps something is inside of the pump/motor housing.

Nothing on the element. Looks like this might be a job for a tech, seeing as it is only 1month old and under warranty

Well, yes, you would call Sears on this as is under warranty.  This is a Whirlpool Dishwasher, with the Kenmore name on it.  Sears makes nothing. I do not know since no one can cross the Kenmore to Whirlpool models since that is guarded by Sears, but there was a recall on the Whirlpool Dishwashers for a heating element issue and another on a motor rework, but we have no way of knowing if this has problems like this since it has the Kenmore name on it  and only Sears has that information and can do warranty repairs on this. Yes would be a job for a tech, no tech' s here....;)
