Kenmore Dishwasher model 363.14371790

8 posts in this topic

I have a kenmore D/W on the blink. Model 363.14371790 (GE)  It will fill with water, hums, but won't run. When the dial is turned, I can hear the solenoids clicking at the various cycles but it will not start nor will it drain the water.  Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like this pump motor may be jammed, reomve the toe panel and with the power cut to the unit reach under the dishwasher and find the black metal fan blade between the motor and the pump and see if it turns, if not try to work it, turn it, may be something in the pump like a toothpick or piece of food that has it jammed.  Keep trying to turn this till it frees up.  If it will not free up or if it is already free, sounds like you would need to replace this pump/motor assy., or replace the unit.

Your suggestion did the trick. Thanks.  The motor runs fine, but now it won't fill.  I tried filling manually, but it won't drain now either. ?? Any suggestions? Thanks.

The fill is a seperate function, be sure the float switch bubble is down, inside of the tub, if it is stuck up, no power to the fill valve.  See if you knocked a wire off of the fill valve and the water is turned on.   No drain could be the pump out coil on the side of the pump/motor assy. not pulling the pump flapper open.   make sure a wire was not pulled off of the float switch under the tub also.  This unit is possessed!!!

Not sure......I checked the float, made sure it wasn't sticking, reset the machine, let it run but it still did not drain, reset it again, let it run a full cycle and presto.....works like new.  Have used it since and it works fine.

Thanks again.
