Monogram Model ZISW42EMD
indicator light flashing on panel
Observations: Freezer and refrigerator sides felt cold
Next day “warm” indicator began flashing
Refrigerator side increased in temp-“it lost that cooling
Observation: “This is a good excuse to get rid of husband’s
old ketchup, relish and salad dressings”
1. Turned off unit with inside control knob
2. Cut power for 48 hours by unplugging the power connector above
3. Filled the dumpster with husband’s old condiments and
No water observed on floor after “defrost” means no frozen
4. Powered up and turned unit back on with switch
Everything okay, danced the happy dance around kitchen.
“status check”; tested ok with no faults
High fived husband and went to the store for beer!
48 hrs later the “de” light came on and stayed on
Cut power in order to reset
Taped down a (TBD) switch at top of freezer door in case the
switch was not making contact. Other switch is inside light. Restored power, all okay did
happy dance a little more slowly.
24 Hrs later
“de” light comes on again.
I am trying to troubleshoot this thing down to a level that
I can repair or know that the repairman is repairing the correct part and

A Pull the top service panel. Rotate the timer slowly until the compressor stops. The timer is in the middle just above the doors. It looks like you could stick a dime in there to turn it. Mark the time. Listen carefully for the sounds of your defrost heater melting and sizzling frost. You should hear something within 10 minutes. Your timer should advance out of defrost within an hour of when you put it in.
