:(Kenmore 665 gas oven lock engaged with door open! Press and hold Oven keypad for 5 secs till LocOff displayed does NOT help. Simultaneously displays Locked!! Small rect. icon of a stovetop is also displayed???? Nothing in manual about this. Somebody help me?

Ok, so we have a bad door latch switch, bad ERC, bad latch mechanism, bad scrotilia... uhh, did I say that out loud? Anyway, I have no idea what's wrong with your range because you didn't give a complete model number. Better yet, get the iring diagram from the bottom drawer and post it here in this thread.

One of your competitor/associates answered my question earlier today...press the door switch inside the oven door and the lock slowly opens.
However, still don't know why I'm getting icon of what appears to be a stovetop in the display????
