Auto ice dispenser not working on Kenmore side by side

I'm a rookie at this fix-it stuff. However, I had good results when I attempted to fix my lame Maytag Neptune washer. Therefore, I thought I would give this new problem a try. Again, I'm afraid there may be a residual electrical charge left in the refrig/freezer after unplugging it. If so, how do I dissipate the charge. Thanks so much; your website is great! Rose

Not that I have ever seen unless it has a capacitor then you would not want to get across the terminals. This would be back by the compressor.
