Kenmore range #790.94120401

Oven door will not close. First thought was bent hinges or receptacle. Have checked hinges and springs, hinge receptacles, and door seal. All appear to be OK. Door does not open past 90 degrees. Door will barely close enough to cut off light switch. Door appears to need to move out at the bottom away from the cabinet approx 3/8 of an inch in order to reach a full 90 degree vertical possition to make full closure with good seal contact; however, I don't see any way to adjust door. Door seal at bottom is making contact long before door reaches vertical. Don't want to order new hinges if there is another solution. Anyone got any ideas???:withstupid:

Has anything heavy recently dropped on the door or by chance have any small children that may have climbed on the door.

Are you sure it doesn't open past the 90 degree full open position, even a little?

It doesn't take much to tweek these door hinges, when you look at them you can hardly even till there bent unless you know just what you're looking at.

A new set of hinges will usually take care of the problem.

Thanks for the reply. Checked similar model and could not see any significant difference in the door position at 90 degrees open. Had similar thoughts about kids or renter falling on the door but as I said if the hinges are tweaked they don't show it. Will probably replace hinges and keep fingers crossed.

Order them from here: RepairClinc, then if they don't solve your problem, you can send them back. You would only be out shipping charges to/from you.

Here's you're compelete hinge kit: 5304445529 CLICK HERE to see and/or order.

This range doesn't have the hinges that I was thinking it had. I've never seen this style that you have go bad, so don't know if it would be the hinges or not, (check to make sure the oven frame face that hinge recepticles mount to isn't bent).

:party:Hinge kit included new receptacles also. Could not see problem until old receptacles were removed. Slightly bent. Not noticable until removed and eyeballed. Door closes like it should now. Life is good........

To bad you didn't take it apart and notice that before purchasing the complete hinge kit.

The recepticles are available seperately for only about $5.00 each.
