My whirlpool super capacity oven is 7 years old and has been used 1 or 2 times a week. I push bake button, raise temp button to 400 and push start. The broiler works but the oven is cold even after 10 minutes of preheating. What do you think it is and can a average person fix or replace the part ? Thanks for any help r guidence. Roy

Roy,
I would look at the heating element in the bottom of the oven as the probable culprit. It could have gone bad without any visible signs, or there may be a bulge or a discoloratin on part of it.

It is easy to change the element, usually a couple of screws holding it on the back of the oven, pull it out and plug in the replacement element.
