I have an amana ars266zbs 2 1/2 years old. The ice maker seems to get stuck a lot. It sounds like the motor is straining to eject the ice. This can go on for 20 or 30 minutes some times. The tray is full of ice, the hopper is empty and still it strains. Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

When it is doing this CAREFULLY feel the bottom of the ice maker mold to see if the mold heater is on, if it is this could burn your fingers.  If it is not on either the mold heater is out or there is no power to the heater.
