for normal power up, after you switch cam on, a motor drives the lense out, and you are good to go.... currently, when i power the cam on, i can hear a sound that could be a motor trying to move the lense, but it cuts out quick, the lense does not move at all and that's that....
point being, the cam seems to be getting some power and i charged the battery.... anyone know anything about jump starting one of these things?
if so, love to hear it... in the mean time, i will be googleing to see what i can find out...
thanks in advance for any help you might have...

If you know someone that has the same camera and could borrow the battery ...
otherwise they are available for under $10 (mail-order)
Have you tried the Camera with the (optional) AC adaoter ?

because it's always checking the "soft" ON/OFF switch through software.
