I'm not sure what else I can tell you, this really is easy and I think you're psyching yourself out. Let's try it again:
1. Set drum in place in dryer.
2. Loop belt around dryer, rib side agains the drum. Everything else from this point on is done blind.
3. Reach in from the front of the drum and loop a bight around the motor pulley.
4. Pull the idler to the left and let is rest against the laft-most side of the belt.
5. That's it!
