Just a few tools to drain the appliances to keep a mess to a minimum.. I found that it is easier to clean a small amount of water than a large amount.. A few minutes to drain before disconnecting the drain hose or pulling the pump...

 

for dish washers....1/4 inch tube inserted in baster.....

 

for full dishwashers..  gear grease pump

 

for automatic washers, pond pump with 6 feet of 3/8 tubing to go to the a/w drain/ stand pipe



and various items to catch the water under and around disposers, hoses and pumps...I also have pince-off pliers but sometimes they leak and the clean-up time is just as long as pumping out the water to begin with...

I agree! Just hate washing floors , so me and my wet/dry and large bath towel (I am a bit of a cluts) do the best we can ..  Those new frigidaire with that piece of lint catching, unwanted plastic is the most fun when you finally get the water to come out...

wet vac put on the end of the drain hose removes every last bit of water

except when you have a sock or disintegrated bath mat completely blocking a hose

Large Ziplock bags also work well to catch water in those hard to reach places !

generic turkey baster with 1/4 inch nylon tubing...the tubing  has a coating of Sil-glide....it pulls out another  big 10 inches......for those hard to reach areas..............
