All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

Thanks for the Miele W4840 manual!  I took a quick look through it and it seems to be thin in the electrical area.  Is there a separate schematic which is available somewhere?  Also any idea where one could get a manual for the T9820 dryer?  I take it Miele is one of the companies which is really parsimonious with their manuals? I haven't yet bought the Miele washer and dryer.  Should I be looking at Electrolux instead?

Best regards,

Henry Heetderks

After much travail, weeping, and gnashing of teeth, I was able to locate the service manual for the T9820 dryer. Link PMed.

I too would like to find copies of the service manuals for Miele W4840 washer and T9800 dryer.  I plan to buy them if I think the engineering makes them worth the extra money.  I live way out in the boonies, and will probably have to service them myself, like I service almost everything else I own.

Will I be able to have parts shipped to me?

Miele USA wouldn't ship parts?

The alternative would be to get the nearest dealer (130 miles away) to order the parts and I would pay the dealer for them.

But the basic reason to pay extra for a Miele would be to lessen the chance of needing parts for a long time.

Or would you advise a rural person like me to get a Whirlpool to make it easier to find parts on the Internet?
