My Kenmore 110.23812100 Type 111 will not spin or drain intemittently.  First time was a couple of months ago, now becoming more frequent.  If I manually advance to the spin cycle after we discover, it will drain and spin.  Any suggestions or where I need to look at repair?

that would seem to be a bad Timer ...

unless the Lid Switch is bad, and you cycled / bumped the Lid Switch, and then it worked ...
