All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Thank you, o great RegUS_PatOff! I've got the file, hope it'll come handy next time this Bosch thing fails...

Not sure if you've noticed, but I happen to own several Bosch appliances. Kinda been infatuated with that famous "German engineering", but I think it's now over... Just had a major hiccup with the washer (with which you've helped immensely by providing me with the service manual), and also had an even more major problem with this dryer. If you look at page 34 of this manual, you'll se the note regarding the shaft the goes into the rear sleeve bearing -- "Shafts are permanently attached to drums. If shafts are damaged, drums have to be replaced". Well, that shaft just fell off the drum in my dryer, and when I looked at the design, I can assure you it's engineered to carry a very light load (I'm professional engineer by trade) -- again, so much for that "german engineering", I beg your pardon. It's press-fit into a 1/8 thick plate, which is not nearly enough to carry all that bending forces, so eventually it's bound to loosen up! And it is indeed not designed as smth replaceable, so the whole drum has to be replaced! I was really pissed off, but, being I guess cheapest man on earth and not wanting to pay through the nose for the new drum, I managed to fix it, been quite a challenge but it's now 4 month and still working!

Anyway, sorry for venting all that out, just kinda pissed off with Bosch I guess...

I also happen to own a Bosch dishwasher, which, given my experience with the washer/dryer, might be another problem in the making. I've asked in the Service Manual forum for the manual for that one, but noone yet replied, so I guess you don't have it either.

Anyway, thanks for all your help, been very much appreciated.

And -- Merry Christmas!

Yuri
