Carrier WeatherMaker 8000 (Model 58DLC090-14) Gas Furnace

So my Carrier WeatherMaker 8000 Furnace (not sure how old) wouldn't ignite.  I was getting the 1 long and 4 short blinks on the LED, but it never switched over to the 3 long 4 short.  Started by trying to clean the ignition switch a bit, but when I re-attached it, the LED wouldn't go on at all.  Am in the process of ordering a new switch, but wanted to check and see if there was anything to do in the mean time.  Manual says there is a power supply problem if the LED doesn't light up.  Could I have tweaked the ignition switch to the point of breaking the circuit?  One other thought is that I may have to hit a reset of some sort cause I forgot to unplug the main power before disconnecting.  Thanks

What start switch are you talking about? Here is how the thang should work

Very helpfull, should have paid closer attention when mine was working.  The part I pulled out was the ignition switch, or in the sequence shown it is the hot surface ignitor.  the LED was blinking as described when I removed it, when I put it back, it wouldn't light up.

Hot surface ignitors are VERY fragile. It is very possible you damaged it or it was already about to go. There is also nothing to clean on a hot surface ignitor, not ever. If it has something on it that made you think it needed to be cleaned, then it was about to fail. You should also NEVER touch them with bare hands as the oils on your hand will ruin them.

Thanks again, I'll put the new one in and see what happens.  Do you think a damaged one would cause the LED light to shut off?

Sorry , I kinda skimmed you first post.

If you don't have the LED lit then you maybe blew the control fuse on the control board or the doorswitch is not depressed all the way (or maybe bad).
