Sub zero 550 replace switches for freezer light or ice maker

Have a big problem with the switches on back of freezer wall that turn on icemaker, lights and freezer fan. Lights were not working, bought new switch, but when I pulled out switch, there's no slack in wires and spade connectors pulled off old switch.  I can't get wires on to new switch.  No slack.  Tried needlenose pliers but can't pull wires out of hole to connect to new switch, seems like wires must be pushed on after switch is popped into hole in back freezer wall.

And now a connector fell off one wire after I gave it a real tug to see if I could just get an inch of slack... What does sub zero expect a tech to do when any of these switches fail??  Is there some kind of access panel in back of refrigerator to get at the back of freezer switches once installed?  Is there a way to remove interior back freezer wall?  I am stumped, starting to think I should cut open the back of freezer wall interior with snips, and then put a new piece of sheet metal in after mounting switch.  But I can't believe that would be a standard repair procedure.  And now ice maker does not work.  Wiring diagram said far left of 3 switches was for freezer lights, but could it have been ice maker instead?  Maybe the icemaker plugged up since I had freezer door wide open for at least an hour while trying to fix this switch?  Might be making ice in the AM?  I'd appreciate any help from a sub zero tech on this, I hate to call in someone who will charge hundreds of dollars to fix this when switch was only $5.  Parts counter guy said it pops right in and out, but now I suspect he's never serviced this in the field. May be able to splice in extensions-- not ideal but better than nothing. Post a photo of what you're seeing, might give other ideas.

Good morning, Master.  I am flattered it is you taking an interest in such a humble grasshopper as I.

I'll see about photo later in week, unit is at my cousin's house and  I was trying to do her a favor by fixing the switch.  Now Super Bowl Sunday is more important to her and her hsuband than this switch problem.  The great news is that the icemaker put out half a tray of cubes since I left her about 18 hours ago.  So I did not pull the wrong switch.

Is it normal for icemaker to take a long time to reset itself if it has been off for several hours.  I had the freezer door off for quite a while trying to fix switch issue.  Any thoughts on this?  Or just wait and see if it starts harvesting ice at normal rate?  Maybe there are re-frozen cubes plugging up the molds or something.
