Kenmore dryer

Hi,
I have an electric Kenmore dryer model 110.86984110. My dryer does not heat. do I have to remove the drum to get at the heating element.

I'm assuming your dryer runs...but no heat. On your model if you drop the bottom panel you will see the the heating element on the right side. Two clips on the right and left side of the panel, just push in with a putty knife. Before you go replacing the element check the thermal cut off, this is on the left side of the heater box last one toward the back. If this is open, you will not get heat. You may also want to check to see if you lost a leg of power on the supply before you get into this. Be sure to have the unit unplugged before you go checking this element and cut-off or you could light up the world....Ron
