I have a 48" Monogram fridge.  The icemaker has stopped consistently dispensing ice - it's intermittant.  Took out the ice bucket/auger assembly and found that there is a metal plate (about 1" by 4") that the auger runs through.  The metal plate fits into 2 detents on the clear plastic ice-scooper (tornado-looking thing).  The problem appears to be that the metal plate is no longer welded/braised to the auger arm, so that when the auger turns, the plate, and therefore the clear plastic ice scooper (tornado thing) does not necessarily turn - the auger arm justs spins independent of it.  Am I correct that this is the problem?  Is this metal plate supposed to be welded/braised/crimped to the auger rod?  If so, it looks like I can get this assembly apart, can I buy just the auger arm with attached metal plate, or do I have to buy the whole assembly?  Thanks for your help,  Tom

Common problem with these. You'll need to replace the whole augur assembly.
