I have an JCD2289 fridge, that has a water filter inside the beer compartment.  When I first got this thing, when I removed the filter the water flow would be stopped.  Now if I take the filter out before turning off the water supply the water will keep running all over.  Does anyone know if there is a valve that needs replacing, and where in the fridge it is?  I am replacing my ADC this week  (for the third time in 10 years) and would like to take care of this water issue at the same time.

thanks

There should have been a bypass plug that came with the fridge so you could install and use the water without the filter. in your case there is no other valve, so if your getting water every where with the filter removed it asounds like the filter housing itself has trash stuck in it that's not allowing the ports to fully close when the filter is removed. You may be successful in removing the housing and cleaning it...if that doesn't work your going to have to replace it.
