Maytag Fridge ain't cool

4 posts in this topic

I have a Maytag side by side, model number MSD2756GEQ. The freezer works great, but the beer is getting warm and the milk lumpy. How does the coldness get from one side to the other?

Foot,  check the back of the freezer comp. and see if you have a frost build-up on the panel,  if so you have a defrost problem which will cause the non cool situation.  Maytag adaptive defrost board could be the problem...seen a lot of these go bad. Ron

It's not a defrost issue. There is a small duct between the freezer and the fridge where the cold air passes. There is supposedly some kind of flap controlled by the thermostat that is stuck closed. I'm trying to figure out if I can open that flap without completely disassembling the component.
