Well, I have entered the world of hoem ownership and this is the first problem so far.

How do I reinsert the door boot SPRING that secures the boot to the washer.  The spring is inserted into the gasket then streched around the basket of the washer.   Well , what's the trick to this proceedure?

I had to take a nail out of the washer as the previous owner washed some clothes and a nail went through the holes in the washer and was grinding when it was spinning.  I got the nail out but now I cannot, after 3 hours, get the spring and gasket seated into place.

I appreaciate any tips or advice as I am a rookie at appliance repair.

Thanks

Dman

This is a Friggidaire-built washer. See this thread for detailed boot replacement procedures.
