:? this dryer seems to run for about 5 minutes and then shut off when you restart it will run for about another 5 minutes and shut off again, and other times it works fine any idea on what could be causing this

Another dreaded DOTT dryer.....suspect the thermister, this would cause it to run 5 minutes and shut down....could also have a bad motor relay or control board.....start with the thermister on the vent housing???

Inexpensive enough to try the thermistor as Pegi suggests. Come git you one.

what is the function of this thermister and how difficult would it be to convert this thing to side discharge
