Need a new/used/repair control board for a Maytag Double Stacked Dryer MDG27PCAAW
#1
Posted 06 July 2010 - 12:43 PM
i am looking for a control board, part # 306230, new or used, or a place that repairs these control boards-
for a set of maytag commercial stacked dryers (2 dryers one on top of the other as used in apartment house laundry rooms), model # MDG27PCAAW.
I have been told that the memory chips on these control boards go bad, and the memory chips can be replaced- which then causes the board LED read outs to flash -" PF " " 88 ".
let me know as these control boards were used a lot of other dryers and stoves!!!

Musty odor
L-O-N-G cycle times
Dingy/yellowing whites
Suds error message
Slow spin speeds
Intermittent water leaks (from rear of washer)
And other annoying symptoms which vary brand-to brand.
Read below:
The *correct* amount of HE (High Efficiency) detergent that should be used in any front load or agitatorless top load washer with tub sizes 3.0 cu ft and larger is as follows:
HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash Load
HE 2X: (1) Tablespoon
HE 3X: (1) Teaspoon
Perform a TUB CLEAN CYCLE every (4) months.
Use: "Tide Washing Machine Cleaner"

Update as of Thurs July 8th, 2010:
I got email replies back from PCBR and CG Industries and they both repair a LOT of control boards, BUT NOT THIS ONE !
Fixyourboard.com said they could probably fix it and I had to mail them the Control Board, the Touch Pad and the transformer---
And I did find one other possible place that says that they can fix the board, as a back-up in case fixmyboard.com in Austin fails in their repair attempts.
I will update when I hear back from next week. Thx.

Alex at Fixyourboard.com in Austin, Texas fixed my bad Maytag control board part # 306230, which is NLA, in a few hours!
It was a bad ribbon connector where the Touch Pad plugs into on the control board that had gone bad--
Fixed and now being shipped back to me today. Will update when it is installed and dryers are up and running-

I see lots of these Maytag model dryers dead because no one wants to try and fix this control board--
Please pass this along as this control board is used in quite a few consumer stoves and ovens by kenmore, as well as dryers and washers-
Fixyourboard.com repair person Alex is extremely knowledgable and it was easy for him to diagnose and reverse engineer almost anything--
And at a reasonable price compared to what some places were quoting me else where to repair the board-- 3X as much !

I looked all over the internet, the country and locally for part new or used or repair place-
Found -
1. a place in Miami, that said they could sell me a used control board if they found one or try to fix mine, & they wanted $300+ to do it, plus shipping and handling.... no guarantees
2. Fixyourboard.com diagnosis, repair was $130 + shipping to me. My ship cost, insured to them for the 3 parts was $11 with FedEx Ground.
Will final post after parts are re-installed.

I re-installed the repaired control board, from Fixyourboard.com, part # 306230, which is NLA, and my new transformer.
I cleaned both dryers inside and out of all lint build up- and both dryers ran perfectly, the timers on both dryers worked perfectly, and all touch pad buttons/controls worked fine, the dryer control board timers, both running down to the cool down mode on each dryer-
The Maytag commercial double stacked dryers, model #: mdg27pcaaw work like brand new--
The people at Fixyourboard.com are the best- Fast diagnosis and repair and turnaround on shipping the control board & transformer back to me-
They rock! Thanks again!
