Yesterday went to my washing machine to find it full of water.  I turned the dial to the spin cycle and it started to spin.  Repeated attempts at turning the dial to different settings resulted in the washer putting in 1 (last?) agitation (not the whole cycle just 1 back and forth of the agitator).  Then it stoped.

Whirlpool - Model: LXR9445JQ1

Other things of interest: I think I smelled a slight electrical burning smell when I initially found the washer full of water.  When I attempt to start the washer in what should be agitate mode I hear a humming sound.

Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Regards, Mike
