I like the maglite xl50 and xl100 for a small pocket sized one!!!!

Surefire and Streamlight are the better options. Make sure you get LED, both have rechargables and regular batteries. You can always buy a rechargable set of batteries. i have a Streamlight Microstream it has a clip, LED, single AAA battery it works really good. Sure Fire makes them also with multiple intensity levels. Awesome lights but pricey.
