Viking 36" Range Spark

5 posts in this topic

Dear Guru,

On the left rear burner, when I turn the knob on, it fails to spark. When I turn on another knob, all burners, including that one spark. I bought a new ignitor switch and it is located just behind the SS plate the valves are mounted to. I can't figure out how to get that front plate off... Could you send me the repair manual or offer some advice on how to remove the front plate?

Thanks for hosting this great service.

Many thanks for the diagram! I was successful in pulling the panel and replacing the ignitor switch on the non functioning burner... sadly that didn't fix the problem. I guess the next thing to do is to replace the whole ignitor module?

Make sure that the orifice in the offending burner is not plugged - spills can sometimes find their way into the burner and clog the orifice - you can clean it out with a piece of fine wire

and ,yes if you already replaced the individual spark switch, the next thing is the module.
