Stove will not fire up...

The pilot light is burning blue and the flame does drop when the knob is turned to the on position... ; but the burner does not light,,,,Any suggestions...?????/ Please help...... Samarai

You probably have a defective oven gas valve, it is not opening, assuming the feeler for the safety oven gas valve is actually in the flame of the pilot assy,

Now I am more confused.. Where is the safety oven valve?

the valve under the oven burner that the feeler goes to that has the tip in the pilot flame, the gas valve that opens so the burner can light from the pilot light
