All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, March 30 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:

ken frig 795.77243602 Fresh food section the lights are possessed will stay on with the doors closed burnt the top a bit then will not come on at all this go on back and forth. Light switches are good. Think its about the time out sensor. Not sure who made it for ken wondering why they would do this to the lights.

made by LG

i havn't been able to find the wiring diagram, if you can take a picture of yours on the back of the fridge and post it up

i suspect the lights are switched, and then controled by a relay on a board, this relay is probably stuck closed

some fridges have a thermostat located near the lights to prevent overheating, and this would explain why the lights go out and not work for a while, the therm trips and then has to cool before it resets

without that wiring diagram i am thinking you need the good ole LG fridge control board

i hope you have removed the light bulbs to prevent further damage

Kenmore 795.77243602 made by LG

similar to LRFD22850ST

quote from post of a different LG model:

This repair is **usually** done by LG for free.

Call LG Customer Service: 1-800-342-0000

Parts needed:

1) Main Board

2) Lens Cover

3) Reflector

4) Case / Housing

5) Sockets

6) Overlay

The new MAIN BOARD has a much larger lightbulb-relay---which reduces the possibility of a repeat.

In addition--the SOCKET ASSY has a THERMOSTAT wired-in. This shuts off the light bulbs if the temperature of the lightbulbs & the housing becomes too hot.
