I ran a ground wire. Didn't work. However, before doing that I did run the diagnostic test utitizing the cancel/off cancel/off start method and I did come up with a diagnostic code of E646. Could I have a gas distribution valve issue?

The tech sheet with your range would have that error code. Do you have that?

I don't have it but I did some searching online and found this? It's not the same model though...

Yeah, the link didn't help.

Did you remove the pots drawer and look in that cavity? Also, underneath the drawer itself. Back of the range is another hiding place.

Sorry about the link I should have put two and two together. I did indeed remove the pots drawer and all wires appear to be in good working order. I guess I just have to figure out what the fault code E646 is for first and then go from there.

No problem on the link.

Here's a tech sheet for a Whirlpool DSI range, not sure it applies to yours. Look at the diagnostic section and see if you can run diagnostic mode. Also note that there is no E646 error code.

Maybe you're just not finding it. Maybe it was "borrowed" by the last guy who worked on the range. Every range ships with one. It's the only place that lists the error codes for the range. Even the service manual doesn't list em.
