WFW8300SW02 power surge issue

Customer has two units same model, WFW8300SW02. They said the power went out, units locked in cycle, could not reset via normal means, door locked. Tried unplugging for +1 hour, no effect. Got one unit to show "F01", faulty CCU in diagnostic mode. Other unit showed "F28", serial communication error. I assumed both CCU's were faulty and replaced them with W10205839. Both units will start a cycle and lock the door, then nothing. It cannot unlock the door, won't go fully into diagnostic mode (all I can get it to do is flash all LED's) and doesn't ever try to fill with water. What is going on? Why can't they go into diagnostic mode? Did the steps to enter diagnostic mode change with the new board? Please help me out.
