I have an ~11 yr old Amana side by side refrigerator (model # SQD26VW). In the past few days the freezer started to fail by not keeping things frozen w/ the temp ranging between 40-45'F.

Both the condensor fan and evaporator fan are functioning fine and I cleaned the condensor coil w/ a vacuum which brought down the freezer temp range to 34-40'F. I went through the trouble shooting flow chart and opened up the back panel in the freezer to inspect the evaporator coil. It had no frost except on the thermostat and its wiring harness.

Per the flowchart I foresee a new refrigerator in the near future. Is there anything further I can try before purchasing a new refrigerator?

Regards,

yhc

Thanks RegUS_PatOff,

Is that violinist playing Chopin's Funeral March? Thanks for the short and sweet answer.

P.S. I am looking at one of many LG's refrigerators, My link, to replace my current Amana. Do you know how it compares to the Whirlpool model (Whirlpool Gold GX5FHTXV) that is highly rated by Consumer Reports?
