Maytag D/W lights blinking

Greetings

Maytag #MDBH969AWB, clean light blinks 3 times, pause, blinks 3 times. Anyone have any ideas. I have have not seen the unit yet, it is at a friends house.
Any ideas would be welcomed.

the tech sheet only mentions the 7 blinks, (Water Heating Fault)
and
A rapidly blinking LED over one of the keys of the keypad
(or sometimes a “dead” keypad/console)
indicates one or more key switch lines are stuck
or shorted on either the control or the keypad.

Thanks. He said it is blinking 7 times now. Will look at it tomorrow.
