I have a top load collosal series GE,WCSR2009DBWW, a few years old. I noticed that the washing machine squeaks when agitator moves.
In the beginning I thought it was an apron problem, but upon pulling out front panel I found no bent apron and no bottom rubbing.
I took a video with the squeaking and I posted it on youtube.
Could it be agitator's brake sleeping? Machine does not squeak when pulling water out, when it spins-only when agitator moves.

Te tub is suspended from 4 supports. the supports hang from 4 plastic glides. Does it squeak when you shake the tub back and forth?
Why? I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's trouble, a man alone. Now they got the whole country sectioned off, you can't make a move without a form

Then unfortunately it's most likely the transmission. Although I would check the agitator coupling, take the agitator off and run a test.

How do I take the agitator off? just pull it like a champ? because it seems it holds very well...

Well, you could pull like a champ (or perhaps a chimp would have more oomph?) Or you could use that gray muck swirling betwixt your ears and rig up something like this:

I pulled out the agitator and squeaking is really really low now, even with large load of water
I put it back and squeaking remained very low.
Now that means it's still the transmission or it needs some grease somewhere?

Here is a video of the GE without agitator mounted...Upon filling with water, the agitator ax doeesn't move back and fourth, and I see the belt working without pause. I guess this is normal
