Hello, The washer door vibrates and is noisy in high speed spin. I had warranty service come out and look at it and he ran it through the spin test a few times and said it was normal and let it go. Now the clothes do not come out as dry, I see in a manual for a LG the only manual I could find that it looks like you can set the max spin speed and lock it in. He may or may have not done this but I would like to check it or reset it, the LG access method in the manual does not work exactly.

If the washer is on a WOOD floor---try:

1) Add one bath towel to the tub/close door (this will mimic an unbalanced load).

2) Press: Power Button ("on")

3) Press: Spin Speed Button to *High*

4) Press: Start Button

5) Place one finger at each of the front leveling legs & wait until the Tub begins to accelerate to higher RPM spin.
If the left or right leveling leg begins to move or hop up/down---use the *LG wrench* to adjust the "leg" until it
stops (unsually 1/4 to 1/2 a turn).


On LG washers (and equivalent Kenmore models) with the "True Balance" feature---it is normal to observe the following:

1) 0 rpm to 400 rpm: Slight/low grade wobble of the washer as the tub begins to spin with *wet* laundry.

2) 400 rpm & above: Near perfect spin cycle. Very little or no Shakes/Vibration/Rattle etc for the duration of
the spin cycle.

3) As the spin cycle ends----the tub begins to slow down. 800rpm/700rpm/600rpm etc.

4) When the tub slows to 400rpm and comes to a dead stop---a slight wobble/vibration occurs (briefly).

All of the above is *normal*.

True Balance differs from older LG washers in that---on the older models---the ENTIRE spin cycle is an uncontrollable vibration/rattle/shaking/coiled-spring noise event. Start-to-finish.

In addition...

Use the *correct* type & amount of detergent:

"HE" (High Efficiency) or Low Suds detergent *must* be used.


Three concentrations are sold--but the dosage instructions by the Soap & Detergent industry are *greedily* excessive.

Use the following dosage:

HE : (2) Tablespoon Per Wash Load

HE 2X: (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X: (1) Teaspoon



Prevents/Reduces:

1) Musty Odor

2) "LE" Error/Interrupted cycle

3) L-O-N-G Cycle Run Times (longer than time displayed)

4) Slower Spin Spin (wet laundry at end of cycle)

5) Small/Intermittent Water Leaks from Behind the Washer at the AIR VENT.

6) Poor Wash Results (especially whites)



Perform a TUB CLEAN CYCLE every (4) months.

Use: "Tide Washing Machine Cleaner"

On LG washers (and equivalent Kenmore models) with the "True Balance" feature---it is normal to observe the following:

2) 400 rpm & above: Near perfect spin cycle. Very little or no Shakes/Vibration/Rattle etc for the duration of

The washer is on a concreat slab and does not lift.

As the washer goes from 500 or so RPM up to max speed the vibration is the worst and the door will rattle. If you push on the door you can make most of the noise go away. The service tech also seen this.

Do you know how to reset the controls or could have the spin speed been changed?

If the washer *body* is shaking/vibrating---not normal. Especially on concrete flooring.

If this is the ONLY source of the offending "noise"---then this is resolved by adding shims to the DOOR LATCH/LOCK ASSY. The shims "move" the Latch Assy inward---resulting in a tighter door fit when closed.

The MAIN BOARD (or spin speed) is not "Field Serviceable".
Some LG built models **do** have capability for programming changes (or revised software profile) but ONLY via cellphone/wireless from LG. Normally--this is NOT required except when a problem has been identified that needs a software update. Very,very rare.

Spin Speeds can be set by the user on the Control Panel.
