Maytag Microwave MMV6178AAW No Display/Power

3 posts in this topic

My Maytag microwave MMV6178AAW has no power. Checked the circuit breaker ok, checked for voltage at the outlet ok as well. But there is no power at all on the microwave. Believe there is a fuse somewhere inside, but do you have any suggestions or instructions as to how to get to it and do some checking? Thanks for the help.

Fuse

The fuse is located behind the grille in line with the power cord on the right side of the unit.

Before replacing a blown monitor fuse, test the primary interlock switch, secondary interlock switch,

monitor switch, and power relay contacts for proper operation.

If the monitor fuse is blown by a failed switch operation, all switches and printed circuit board must be replaced.

Unplug the microwave and remove the top grill, look closely and you'll see black phillips screws recessed in there. With the grill off, it exposes the control panel retaining screw. Remove the screw and the control panel pivots out. There's a 20A fuse on the right hand side. Pull it out and check it with you meter to see if it's open.
