Maytag Neptune Dryer MDG9700AWM won't run

My Neptune dryer lights up, beeps, but makes a click when i push the start button. took lid off and click is louder near circuitboard. Any ideas from better qualified folks???

Yes mdg9700awm is the model #, sorry. if it was open, would it just click when pushing start and not do anything?

Thanks for making me check that! opened up the back belt was hanging, as if stretched out. piece of white spindle was broken. arm with white spindle has spring and moves up and down and seems loose. belt looks fine just too long now to fit back on.see photo.http://web.me.com/mo...une/Photos.html

spindle wheel for belt is broken and belt falls off. reattached and it spins. bad spindle wheel. found the prob thanks for your help!!!!!
