Another Hotpoint Spin Problem

It spins great with no clothes in it. With clothes, it spins for about 5 seconds 'til it gets up to speed.. then shuts itself back off. My first thought was "out of balance", but I've tried every possible way of arranging the laundry in the tub with no success. It does not make any unusual noises.
Model vbxr1090bocc, s/n 2a175626h
Any ideas?

If this is one of the newer (post-1995) GEs, they will behave in this way. What happens is that the water is pumped out, and once it gets low enough, the water level switch registers "empty" and spin starts. As it spins, it re-pressurizes the switch and breaks the "empty" contact. This happpens several times before the spin gets fully under way. Is this what you're seeing?

Some of the O's might be zeros.. It's kind of hard to tell. Can we get a re-check on the model number, not getting anything on it.

I'm pretty sure it just stops and stays stopped. I'll double-check that tonight.
The original complaint is "the clothes are still wet", so I don't think there's much spinning.

I tried it again last night, and it worked perfectly.
Let me get back to you when it starts acting up again.
