I suspect the drain pump has finally died. We have had the E04 code intermittently for a year but were able to get around it by starting the cycle over. I have opened the little circle plate on the front and cleaned out the trap a couple of times, but it always looks very clean. During the wash when it gets to the drain cycle you can hear a slight hum but no water ever gets pumped out. I can attach the shop vac to the drain hose and suck all the water out so I don't believe there is a clog. Am I missing anything before I order a new drain pump? Also I would really like a service manual so I can see how to replace the pump. Thanks in advance. Great website by the way.

E:04 points to a problem in the door control. Have you put in into diagnostic mode, yet?

My owners manual indicates E04 is a problem with the drain being clogged.

Well, let's go with that.

Pull the drain hose off the pump, pucker up and blow like a fish. Should clear an initial slug of water and then blow free, as free as the wind blows...

Update: Replaced the drain pump, takes about 1.5-2hrs total time. Have washed about 10 loads, no trouble so far.
