KENMORE WASHER 417.29042991

4 posts in this topic

Recently i purchased second hand Kenmore washer # 417.29042991. During from first load of laundry halfway through the high-speed final spin of a cycle, it made a huge noise and then sounded way out of balance. I used to be able to spin the inner basket and it would be smooth. Now, it has some resistance and makes a metal-on-rubber type scraping noise.

I tried calling the guy who sold it to me, but he is not lifting the calls.

Can someone please let me know how much it would cost me to fix it and are there any technicians in my area who can give me a qoute on how much it will cost me to get it repaired. I live covina - 91724.

Thank You,

Craig's List ?

this model made by Frigidaire ...

should have heard it run a load before purchase...

sound like the "all too familiar" Tub Bearing assembly..

Not worth fixing...

Yes, i purchased it on craigslist. Since you suggested that it is not worth fixing...next time if i look for one, is there any specific brand that i should look for on front load washers. Appreciate your response.

I wouldn't buy anything from Craig's List

Why would anyone want to sell their "perfectly working" appliance ?

You could try a used appliance store

OR Sears Outlet Store..some scratch & dent.. may have problems, but they have warranty

Whirlpool Duet had been on sale at Lowes for $ 399 . . . now $ 509

Whirlpool-built top loaders had been on sale at Home Depot for $ 249 . . now $ 297
