widowbryant Posted April 30, 2011 Author Share Posted April 30, 2011 The washer drum suddenly stopped spinning, but it pumps out. I smell a bit of burned rubber like when my vacuum belt breaks. The unit is older. I haven't pulled it out of its cubbyhole yet, but ordered both drive belts cause I figure it's probably time to replace them. Already did the dryer belt last year. When the washer belts arrive I'll pull the thing out and replace those, but it might be something else. I read about the transmission, or perhaps an old sock stuck between the the tubs, but can't find a diagram on how to remove the top tub ring. I felt around in there but no socks jumped out. I joined this forum because I thought it'd be good to have a service manual for this thing since it's starting to require the occasional repair. I figure it's a foreboding of things to come, so better get a manual.I'm a girly farmer living in a rural area and pretty good with fixing things.
