Is this normal or is there a clog somewhere?
If anyone could help or if anyone has knowledge about this I sure would appreciate some assistance.
Also, is there a comprehensive service manual for this unit? If so, where can I get one?
Thanks,
Oscar

According to LG engineers---these small balls provide less friction to the fabrics as the drum tumbles during the wash cycle.
Evidently---the significance of this must have been found to be marginal---as they are not much used in current model washers.
Water does dribble from DRUM BAFFLES in all LG models and is normal.
Musty odor
L-O-N-G cycle times
Dingy/yellowing whites
Suds error message
Slow spin speeds
Intermittent water leaks (from rear of washer)
And other annoying symptoms which vary brand-to brand.
Read below:
The *correct* amount of HE (High Efficiency) detergent that should be used in any front load or agitatorless top load washer with tub sizes 3.0 cu ft and larger is as follows:
HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash Load
HE 2X: (1) Tablespoon
HE 3X: (1) Teaspoon
Perform a TUB CLEAN CYCLE every (4) months.
Use: "Tide Washing Machine Cleaner"

If there was a clog somewhere in the line that supplies those baffles, where could I check for one?
Also, we had used regular powder detergent. Could this have caused a clog somewhere?
Thanks again,
Oscar

maybe... we had used regular powder detergent. Could this have caused a clog somewhere?
from the WM2277 Service Manual:
RollerJets
The washing ball enhances wash performance and reduces damage to clothing.
The jets spray and help tumble clothes to enhance washing performance while maintaining fabric care.

*************
Your model likely has a DRAIN MOTOR---which pumps water out *and* a RECIRCULATION MOTOR which sprays water onto the DOOR GLASS.
If the nozzle at the top of the DOOR GASKET is plugged with lint---you'll need to remove it (lint).
I forcefully jam my index finger (the plastic nozzle will spread/bend) into the side of the nozzle and "scoop" the lint out.

It's the baffles on the inner aspect of the drum that aren't spraying any water out with any force. It just seems to be leaking slowly. The small plastic piece at the top of the door gasket seems to be spreading water out fine.
Is it possible that the baffles are clogged?
Thanks,
Oscar

The BAFFLES have no injectors or nozzles of any kind.
The rollers/balls are only to help fabrics *glide* over the BAFFLES during tumble.
The *holes* on the BAFFLES simply allow water to "cascade" onto laundry during tumble (no forced pressure).
LG washers *without* the rollers/balls in the BAFFLES are totally identical in function (as far as the tub goes) as other models *with* the rollers/balls in the baffles. No difference.
